Esvagt Connector rescues Dutch fisherman

Offshore Fleet NewsOn 9 September 2015 at 1.15 p.m. ESVAGT CONNECTOR received a Mayday from the Dutch trawler Grietje Geertruida in the Danish sector of the North Sea. A fisherman had fallen overboard. He was wearing dark working clothes and no life jacket.

The exact position of the man over board was not known, but an approximate location was given.

Distance from the trawler to ESVAGT CONNECTOR was about 8 nautical miles. ESVAGT CONNECTOR was relieved from standby service at the offshore installation.

The crew at ESVAGT CONNECTOR launched a Fast Rescue Boat (FRB) and the person was recovered from sea at 02.10 p.m.

The rescued fisherman was taken to the hospital on board and shortly after evacuated from ESVAGT CONNECTOR by helicopter.
