W2W project, the Kroonborg documentary released

“W2W project”, the KROONBORG documentary is published on www.w2wproject.com. It is a 45 minutes documentary about ‘Walk to Work vessel’.

A close cooperation between NAM, Shell UK, Royal Wagenborg and Royal Niestern Sander resulted in an unique and innovative vessel the world has never seen before. This vessel will be used to support maintenance activities on platforms in the Southern North Sea. Where helicopters were needed in the past to transfer people, this vessel introduces a complete new way of working. People walk to their work with a motion compensated gangway.

Royal Wagenborg will support the offshore activities of Nederlandse Aardolie Maatschappij and Shell UK in the coming 10 years. The Kroonborg was built by Royal Niestern Sander over the last two years. Developing and building Kroonborg has been of a great economic importance for the region. The documentary captures the adventure of the Kroonborg and shows where the Northern Maritime industry stands for.
